Miguel has released his latest self produced project titled "Art Dealer Chic Vol. 1". The EP only has three tracks but its three tracks of some pretty good music. My favorite track is "Adorn", which he released as a video last week in anticipation of this new project.

BHM: Black Gold

Today would normally be the last day of Black History Month but thanks to leap year we have 1 more day to honor Black Gold in the month of February. Cherish our history with this great song, which is now known as the soundtrack to our lives. Youuuuuuuuu Areeeeee Black Gold! It's sad that we dont hear beauty like this on the radio or at the top of the music countdowns. ENJOY and share with someone that can use it as inspiration.

Black History In The Making: Comic Books

I've been faithfully reading a few comics over the past months. My favorite has been the Ultimate Spider-man series. As some of you may know, the new Spiderman in this series is Bi-racial. It means a lot for me as the reader to be able to connect and relate to the hero I'm reading about. In honor of Black History Month, I'm going to share three of my favorite comic series that I've been reading, they all feature Black heroes. My favorite Black comic hero of the past is Marvel's Black Panther. The three modern heroes I'm going to highlight in this article are Marvel's "Ultimate Spiderman and DC Comic's "Bat Wing" & "Static Shock".

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man

This has been my favorite series from Marvel, I read every issue faithfully. I download it on my Ipad and I subscribe to it at my local comic store. This series takes place in Brooklyn, New York.

 Miles Morales first appears in Ultimate Comics: Fallout #4, which was published in August 2011, in which he foils a murder by Kangaroo, a short time after Peter Parker's death at the hands of the Green Goblin. He wears a red and blue Spider-Man suit similar to Peter Parker's, but considers changing it when spectators tell him it is in "bad taste".

Black History In The Making: Meet Samantha Black aka Sammy B

I had the honor of viewing this inspirational video piece during Sammy B's Fall/Winter 2012NYFW fashion presentation last week. If you have dreams, this short video is inspiration for you! It's a must-see! I love art and anything dealing with creativity, it's refreshing to see that I'm not alone in my generation. Sammy B is Black History in the Making.

Samantha Black aka Sammy B's fashion journey began taking flight upon her receipt of a BFA with a concentration in fashion design from the prestigious Pratt University located in Brooklyn, NY. During her academic stint Sammy interned for Jill Stuart and Michael Kors and upon graduation moved onto work for the international fashion icon Alexander McQueen in his London design studio.

Upon returning to the states Samantha was elevated to the position of head designer of the entire women's denim line (ranging from bottoms to outerwear) for Aeropostale's Jimmyz.

Samantha's diverse resume, extensive experience with other designers and her own personal life journey has certainly inspired her beautifully eclectic collection; a collection whose self- proclaimed goal has been to complement fashion- forward women while adding a splash of Sammy B's own sassy flavor.

My NYFW Footwear: SUPRA

During the 2012 Fall/Winter New York Fashion Week, I wore sneakers provided by Supra Footwear. Mid Fashion Week, while en route to the MCM showcase in my previous posts, I stopped by the Supra flagship store in Soho (4 Prince St.) to pick up a few pairs of sneakers that seemed to fit well with the theme of the week. I'm a big fan of the Supra Society Sneaker so I made it my focus to get as many pairs of those as possible and I love being different so I had to get a pair of shoes with unique fabrics or print. I left the store with two pairs of SOCIETYs (Wool Snowflakes & Heartbreaker II's) and 1 pair of Leopard Pony Hair Supra Assaults.

Sammy B. Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Show Recap

I've been so busy attending shows last week that I didn't have time to write about them, but it's better late than never I suppose. Last Thursday, I attended Sammy B's fashion show at The Broad Street Ballroom in Manhattan. Sammy B. aka Samantha Black's fashion shows are always star studded events, filled with some of the elite when it comes to black fashion. Samantha's Fall/Winter 2012 show featured Toccara has a guest model, Olivia as a performer, and Amanda Diva on the 1's & 2's. The fashion show was presented by Jones Magazine and it featured cocktails & candy by Hypnotiq, as well as cosmetics by IMAN Cosmetics and Carol's Daughter hair products. The audience was filled with famous faces and socialites. There was even a live unplanned reality tv incident, Erica (from Love & Hip-Hop) got into an altercation about seating arrangements and she was asked to leave mid show. Mercedes Benz-New York Fashion Week officially came to an end a day ago. I had an amazing time and met lots of amazing people, I went to more shows that expected. I attended at least two shows on each day of NYFW. I decided to share some of the Random photos from my phone with all of you. There were some pretty bizarre experiences, I saw a baby walking around the Lincoln Center alone with his own bodyguard and a dog attended in a sweater. MCM Private NYFW Fall/Winter 2012 Showcase

During New York Fashion Week, MCM invited me out to Soho for an appointment only viewing of their latest collection and the upcoming collection for next season. This was a one on one type of event, usually only experienced by buyers.. I felt honored that they would care enough about my opinion to have me and my viewers be apart of something so intimate and prestigious. I loved everything MCM had to show me, I have a new found respect for the brand. My favorite pieces overall were the Men's Stark backpack and the Honshu Tantris Weekender. (The bags I'm holding in the photos) To top it all off, They gave me a complimentary MCM umbrella, ink pen, calender, notepad, and lookbook. MCM Everything!!!!! This post will also be followed by two more posts highlighting the upcoming Men's collection and the Women's collection in detail. The pieces I'm wearing in the photos are from the upcoming collection.

Rachel Roy Fall 2012 Fashion Presentation Recap

Day 5: I was invited to the view Rachel Roy's latest collection. I felt honored to be invited to her show without even requesting an invite, it shows that all my hard work is gradually paying off. Rachel Roy always brings out the fashion industry elites so I was already expecting to see a few familiar faces and a lot of reporters. The collection itself looked great, Rachel used alot of earth tones, I loved the details on each piece. The show was held in the Alice Tully Hall of the Lincoln Center. Katya Leonovich Fall 2012 Fashion Show Recap

Day 2 of NYFW: While lounging at the Lincoln Center, I randomly walked into the Katya Leonvich presentation with a fellow blogger that I met at a mixer event the other night. I don't really know much about this designer but after viewing her collection I will definitely do some research. The Katya Leonvich collection was amazing, I really like the creativity of her show.... they did a lot with such a small room to work with. A friend of mines said that what she liked most about the show was the fact that she could actually touch and feel the pieces worn by the models unlike the traditional show where you watch from afar. Nautica Men's Fall 2012 Fashion Show Recap

On Day 2 of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, Nautica invited me to view their Fall 2012 Menswear Collection. The show took place across the street from the Lincoln Center at Ed's Chowder House, which is a seafood restaurant..how fitting. I was shocked and amazed when I entered the venue, it was much more than your ordinary fashion show, it was like a party/mixer/celebration. We were greeted at the door with a coat check and complimentary cocktails while viewing the collection. There was also a DJ on hand playing music the entire time. Check out the photos I captured on my iPhone below, GREAT JOB NAUTICA! I'm impressed! ....I'm not easily pleased , by the way.

A group of 10 high fashion models will occupy the sidewalks in a sultry uniformed walk, dressed in the Simply Intricate "seductive crush" collection. Patrons who are not invited to Mercedes Benz Fashion week but still appreciate fashion will be able to enjoy a real life runway extravaganza . The label will showcase in the following locations Soho, Meat Packing District, 5th Avenue, Lincoln center , Madison Ave.
