Jenni Kayne's Spring 2010 Collection

"American sportswear with an edge." That was Jenni Kayne's assessment of her latest collection. Despite the prevalence of animal hide, the print-free collection came across as light and easy. Kayne has made a name for herself with leather separates, from the perfect black sheath, a cream crop top or a cuffed-short combo, to cheeky briefs and a bustier for the daring or just plain gaga.

Emilio Pucci Spring 2010 Collection

Making good on the promise of his sexy debut, Peter Dundas turned out a sizzling collection for Spring/Summer at Emilio Pucci. Backstage, Dundas said he had wanted to work with easier volumes and loosen up the silhouettes a bit. Due to the fact that Dundas is an avid scuba diver, the underwater universe produced some aqueous prints that also formed the basis of allover-sequined dresses.

Yigal Azrouƫl Spring 2010 Collection

Yigal Azrouƫl who's currently training for a marathon and, apparently, thinking streamlined, was aiming for something more "structured and much less layered than it has been in the past" when it came to his collection. With a "scalpel-like" cut, as he put it, he sliced out shapes, binding them over sheer fabrics and floating them over T-shirts. Under the tees were sexy, slivered bandeaus that didn't look like you could make them at home.

Basso & Brooke Spring 2010 Collection

Neo-pop, the theme of Basso & Brooke's Spring collection, gave him a tailor-made opportunity to duplicate on fabric the work of Jeff Koons (for those of you who don't know Jeff makes art). His collection showed a strong interest in black and white, and was inspired by photos of Herb Ritts. Some of the pieces were not meant to be how they were designed originally but he did what most designers in the fashion industry must know how to do and thats make it work.
