"New York Fashion Week Men's Day" Presented By Cadillac

During New York Fashion Week A/W 2014, Cadillac held it's first of a new ongoing bi-annual program dedicated to the support of the menswear industry called "New York Fashion Week Men's Day". Six brands presented their fall 2014 collections simultaneously over a two-hour period at Industria Studios in New York City.

The six brands that participated in 2014 Men's Day are:

• Bespoken, GQ 2013 Best New Menswear Designer of the Year
• Bosideng, Chinese menswear brand launching in America 2014
• Carlos Campos, CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund Finalist 2011, FGI winner 2009
• David Hart, FGI scholarship award recipient
• Ernest Alexander, GQ 2013 Best New Menswear Designer of the Year
• Lucio Castro, CFDA Incubator Program 2014-2016

Each brand showcased their collection in a fully styled studio space, incorporating décor relevant to their brand identity and collection inspiration.

Three of the participating designers (Bespoken, David Hart, and Ernest Alexander) were each granted the opportunity to wrap a new 2014 Cadillac ELR to represent the aesthetics of their collection.

My favorite collection of the evening was definitely Bespoken. Their Fall 2014 Collection was titled "Tailored Vandal".

"Downtown New York meets the London East End. Late Nights. Dark Alleys. Banging Drums. Cigarette butts. Wheatpasted subways. Wandering artists. Menswear crafted from the finest materials and to the highest specifications."

I would love to own a few pieces from them.

They were also willing to think outside of the box and incorporate women into their menswear presentation. A "Terry McFly Approved" move indeed.

My other two favorites were the collections from David Hart and Ernest Alexander.
